Beer

Beer is the world's most widely consumed and probably the oldest of alcoholic beverages; it is the third most popular drink overall, after water and tea. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of starches, mainly derived from cereal grains—most commonly malted barley, although wheat, maize (corn), and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavoured with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavourings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. Some of humanity's earliest known writings refer to the production and distribution of beer.

Nowadays, beer comes in a vast variety of flavors and styles, from Irish stouts to English pale ales, Czechoslovakian pilsners, Bavarian weissbeirs, and American micro brews. At Petty's, we've dedicated ourselves to providing the beer connoisseur with the very best beers from all over the world, hand-picked for their reputation for quality. We've tasted all of the beers on our shelves, and can recommend an excellent beer providing a perfect food pairing or an unparalleled drinkability for any occasion.
